The Opportunity

Join the Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE) and play a pivotal role in advancing teaching excellence across Embry-Riddle Worldwide. As an Instructional Consultant II, you will partner with faculty throughout their teaching journey by providing expert guidance, mentorship, and professional development that enhances instructional quality and student success. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with academic leaders, instructional designers, and cross-functional teams to promote innovative teaching practices, support faculty development initiatives, and contribute to the University's mission of delivering exceptional educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support faculty throughout their teaching lifecycle by providing individualized coaching, classroom observations, and instructional consultations.

  • Facilitate required and optional faculty development programs, including onboarding and training for new faculty through the iTeachER program.

  • Evaluate courses to ensure adherence to instructional best practices, contractual requirements, and university standards.

  • Partner with academic leadership to identify instructional improvement opportunities and provide timely solutions to faculty performance concerns.

  • Research and recommend innovative teaching strategies, educational technologies, and evidence-based instructional practices.

  • Develop and maintain instructional resources, training materials, and faculty support tools.

  • Collaborate with colleges and university departments to enhance teaching effectiveness, curriculum quality, and student success initiatives.

  • Analyze instructional trends and provide recommendations to instructional designers and academic stakeholders to support continuous improvement.

  • Stay current on emerging trends in pedagogy, instructional technology, and higher education through ongoing professional development

  • Generous Time Off: Enjoy up to 18 days of paid leave in your first year, including 3 days granted upon hire and 15 days accrued throughout the year. You'll also receive 9+ paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is up to$54,500. The final offer will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a closely related field.

Required Experience

  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience.

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in an online higher education environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based teaching practices and faculty development.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and administrative skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, academic leadership, and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with instructional technologies, online teaching strategies, and higher education best practices.
