OCONUS Intelligence Advisor

Orbis is seeking a mission-driven, results-oriented OCONUS Intelligence Advisor and strongly encourages applications from recently separated military service members with relevant operational experience, consistent with customer preference.

Duties/Responsibilities



  • Provide best practices for conducting concept development activities (the establishment of a capabilities baseline and determine future needs), capabilities analysis, gap analysis, solutions analysis, and risk analysis.
  • Provide key considerations in evaluating research and development investments and/or how to conduct research and development.
  • Provide best practices for modeling (the physical, mathematical, or logical representation of a system, entity, phenomenon, or process) and simulation (developing data utilized for managerial or technical decision making)
  • Provide historical analysis exploring the role of a strategic planning organization, the elements it must take into consideration to function effective and notable pitfalls.
  • Develop military intelligence doctrine and policy.
  • Analyze Data presented, identify shortfalls and trends, provide improvement methodologies, and brief senior leadership on solutions.
  • Create a process for requirements generation.
  • Facilitate large working groups.
  • Support other Orbis business development initiatives as requested.


Work with other Orbis Senior Management on:



  • Orbis recruiting and staffing efforts
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff as hired.
  • Representation of Orbis at trade shows, conferences, symposia, or hiring events, etc.


Supervisory Responsibilities



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree is required; a masters' degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of recent US intelligence or military experience.
  • Demonstrated regional and/or functional expertise or a working knowledge of geographic regions of interest to the United States, including the Middle East and military organizations.
  • Ability to live and work in foreign environments and communicate cross culturally with impact.
  • Familiarity/expertise with US training development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with the Military Planning Process at the operation and joint command level.
  • Two years of experience in institutional development.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, and people skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Former service members of the US military service - Strongly Preferred
  • Commissioned Officers - Strongly Preferred
  • Experience working with Middle East military intelligence organizations - Strongly Preferred
  • Two years of experience embedded with a foreign military intelligence organization - Strongly Preferred


Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work: Primarily performs work in a seated position for extended periods; occasionally required to stand, walk, or move within the work area.

Vision: Must be able to read and view a computer screen for extended periods; close vision and ability to adjust focus required.

Communication: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, via telephone, and through video conferencing platforms; ability to hear and understand spoken information in a professional setting required.

Lifting: Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, documents, office supplies).

Concentration: Must be able to maintain sustained focus and attention to detail in a professional office or hybrid work environment.

Travel: Extended travel to the Middle East, including time spent in geopolitical hot zones on a rotational basis (60 days in country and 60 days in the US working remotely).
