Position Summary Information






Primary Purpose
The Head STUNT Coach is responsible for all phases of running a competitive and impacting STUNT program. Responsibilities include; recruiting, practice planning, game planning and execution, fundraising, facility preparation, staff supervision, budgeting, scheduling and other administrative responsibilities necessary for a competitively successful and life impacting STUNT program. This position assists the Director of Spirit in overseeing and developing the Sideline Cheer program and game day entertainment.

Essential Functions
Head Coach Responsibilities | 70%

  • Help plan, organize, and execute a dynamic training program to develop and prepare players to maximize their potential and pursue excellence in athletic achievement.
  • Successfully facilitate all aspects of coaching a team in competition.
  • Foster the academic achievement and physical well-being of student-athletes.
  • Mentor and develop varsity athletes both on and off the mats.
  • Help develop and implement a plan for the recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
  • Plan and manage team scheduling and travel arrangements.
  • Remain knowledgeable of and adhere to NCAA regulations.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with responsibilities of a college coach.


Budget Management and Fundraising | 20%

  • Help manage and maintain team budgets in line with University policies.
  • Order and maintain equipment for the STUNT team.
  • Plan and administer fundraising efforts on behalf of the STUNT program.
  • Help manage operations of the STUNT practice and competition venues.
  • Coordinate with Athletics Administration in the scheduling of facilities.
  • Oversee day to day care and preparation of the facility.

Other Duties | 10%
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned that align within the scope of the job description.
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of demonstrated successful coaching experience. College, All-Star or university-level experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated exceptional coaching experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty, alumni, fans, parents, and students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student athlete.
  • Extensive knowledge of Stunt athletics.
  • Understanding of NCAA compliance rules.
  • Ability to recruit and retain student athletes.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team atmosphere in the Athletics Department.
  • Strong commitment to the University and the NCAA Division I philosophy.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is performed in a standard office environment as well as outside of a standard office environment during standard and non-standard business hours, including nights and weekends to fulfill business needs. Extensive travel required for competition and recruiting.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range $70,304 - $74,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
