About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

Rivian is seeking a strategic and technically rigorous analytics lead to serve as the primary intelligence partner for the Marketing VP. This role owns the full measurement infrastructure-from multi-touch attribution and media mix modeling to full-funnel analysis and MarTech orchestration-that drives a multi-million dollar marketing budget. The Sr. Manager will lead a team of analysts, partnering across Finance, Product, Digital Technology, and the Customer organization (including Sales and Market Intelligence) to ensure marketing spend directly translates to top-line growth and an exceptional customer experience. This is a player-coach role: you'll be equally comfortable building a Databricks pipeline, presenting to the C-suite, and coaching an analyst through their first incrementality study.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and grow a team of marketing analysts through hiring, performance management, and structured career development.
  • Set the technical bar by working hands-on alongside the team-reviewing code, modeling alongside analysts, and translating complex analytical outputs into clear executive narratives.
  • Foster a culture of rigorous analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement through regular code reviews, project feedback, and individual development plans.
  • Serve as the primary analytics partner for the Marketing VP and senior leadership; translate ambiguous business questions into structured technical roadmaps and deliver executive-level storytelling that drives decisions.
  • Own the evolution of Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) and Media Mix Modeling (MMM) to optimize a multi-million dollar marketing budget. Partner closely with Corporate Finance to ensure MMM directly informs annual budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Design and manage studies to measure brand awareness, purchase consideration, and brand sentiment across key audiences. Partner with research vendors and internal teams to track how marketing investments shift consumer perception and move customers through the consideration funnel.
  • Analyze the end-to-end customer journey-from lead generation through fulfillment-to identify drop-off points, improve conversion rates, and surface insights on customer acquisition costs (CAC) and customer lifetime value (LTV). Develop a deep understanding of lead flow processes to assist in optimizing territory planning and sales conversion strategies.
  • Lead the strategy for A/B testing, incrementality studies, and lift analysis to validate channel performance and establish statistical rigor across the team.
  • Partner with Marketing Ops to audit and optimize the MarTech stack (e.g., CDP, CRM, Ad-Platform APIs) to ensure seamless data flow into Databricks for advanced modeling and AI readiness.
  • Collaborate with the broader Data Science team to ensure marketing data is 'AI-ready' for future agentic automation projects. Drive scorecards, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that serve both operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Finance, Digital Technology, the Customer organization (Sales and Market Intelligence), and Data Platform and Engineering teams to align marketing attribution with top-line business growth. Study end-to-end pipelines to identify actionable insights on how marketing tactics and incentives directly impact Sales KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years in Analytics or Data Science; at least 2+ years directly managing a team including performance management, hiring, and career development. 5+ years supporting executive decision-making (e.g., consulting, corporate strategy, or senior business partner roles).
  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing and digital marketing channels (Paid Search, Social, Lifecycle, Email) and their measurement frameworks. Familiarity with CDP platforms and website analytics tools. Preferred experience in luxury product organizations, vehicle marketing, or automotive sales environments.
  • Mastery of SQL and Python (or R). Experience with modern data tools including Databricks, dbt, and AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor AI. Advanced data visualization expertise using Tableau and Hex. Proven capability integrating data from disparate, unstructured sources, including third-party APIs, Data Lakes, and internal tracking tools (Excel, Smartsheet).
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with VP and C-suite stakeholders; proven ability to navigate high-stakes environments, manage executive expectations, and influence organizational strategy.
  • A track record of coaching and upskilling junior or mid-level analysts; you enjoy teaching the 'why' behind the data and helping others navigate complex problem-solving and career growth.
  • A continuous improvement mindset; experience using lean or continuous improvement methodologies to streamline data accessibility and normalization.
  • Proven ability to navigate fast-paced, high-stakes environments-such as startup operations or new product/vehicle launches-with a sharp sense of urgency and extreme attention to detail.
