Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the Office of Student Access initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Program Administrator SPVR, the Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for providing programmatic leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for Student Access initiatives and supporting the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Collaborates closely with divisional leadership, campus partners, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to develop, implement, assess, and enhance programs that advance student access, persistence, retention, graduation, and post-baccalaureate success.
  • Serves as a key contributor to the development and execution of Student Access strategic priorities and signature initiatives.
  • Leads complex projects from conception through implementation.
  • Develops project plans, timelines, and performance measures.
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams and committees.
  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensures the successful execution of programmatic objectives.
  • Manages multiple initiatives simultaneously and exercises sound judgment in establishing priorities, resolving challenges, and recommending solutions that align with divisional and institutional goals.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and services that support first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented student populations.
  • Utilizes assessment data, student success metrics, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements that strengthen student outcomes and program impact.
  • Supports the administration of grant-funded initiatives by coordinating program activities, monitoring deliverables, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the preparation of annual and grant reports, as well as other required documentation.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership to maintain and leverage student and alumni engagement data to inform strategic planning, program development, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develops and delivers presentations and training materials.
  • Represents Student Access on university committees, working groups, and at institutional events.
  • Cultivates partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinates communications and outreach efforts.
  • Provides guidance to student employees, graduate assistants, and volunteers supporting Student Access initiatives.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two years of administrative and programmatic experience, preferably in higher education or a non-profit organization.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Ability to work independently with little guidance.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to interact with high-level administrators and have prior administrative experience within a college/university setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative and programmatic experience in higher education or a non-profit organization.
  • One year of experience working in a fast-paced, high visibility executive office overseeing the implementation of campus level initiatives and providing executive support.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Position may be asked to lift boxes and materials up to 25lbs.
Special Conditions

  • This position will require to travel from time to time.
  • This position will require to have access to transportation and be available to work some nights and weekends.
