Job Description

The Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of chemical engineering including but not limited to multiphase flow and reactors engineering, nuclear reactor engineering, renewable fuels, and batteries. About Linda and Doshi Bipin Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering

Missouri S&T's Linda and Doshi Bipin Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering occupies the new Bertelsmeyer Hall that accommodates state-of-the-art research laboratories related to energy (including multiphase flow and reactors engineering, renewable fuels, and batteries), environmental applications including carbon capture and conversion, and biomedical applications such as biomaterials and drug and gene delivery. It also houses recently renovated teaching laboratories and classrooms. The Department received a $10M naming gift from Mr. Bipin and Mrs. Linda Doshi in the fall of 2020, the largest gift to an academic program at S&T. With the gift, three endowed professor positions were created. The Department offers degree programs in Chemical Engineering at the BS, MS, and PhD levels, as well as in Biomedical Engineering at the BS level and Bioengineering at the PhD level. Additionally, the Department provides two certificate programs. Currently, the Department has 17 faculty members including four AIChE fellows and one AIMBE fellow. Six current and former faculty are ranked among the world's top 2% of scientists, according to the latest Stanford University report. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field at the time of starting the position
  • Applicants should demonstrate the ability to or have a proven track record of teaching chemical engineering courses that align with our established curricula in Chemical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants with a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from an accredited program are preferred
  • The successful candidate is expected to (a) develop a research program that is externally funded and nationally and internationally recognized, (b) contribute high quality teaching in both undergraduate and graduate courses in our chemical engineering or biomedical/bio engineering curricula, (c) provide service within the Department and to our institution as well as the applicant's professional community
