UC San Diego Health is proud to be a four-time Magnet-designated organization and has now earned Magnet with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet is the gold standard for nursing excellence, achieved by only about 10% of hospitals worldwide. Magnet with Distinction is awarded to the highest-performing Magnet organizations, with only a select few earning this prestigious honor. This recognition reflects our commitment to transformational leadership, professional nursing excellence, innovation, exceptional patient outcomes, and an empowering practice environment where nurses thrive. UC San Diego Health's New Graduate LVN Program is an innovative, supportive pathway designed to help newly licensed vocational nurses' transition seamlessly into ambulatory care practice. This structured program provides a strong foundation in clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and professional development within a leading academic health system. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse on the Float Team, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education and venipuncture and IV access. Requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Due to our exciting Community Care clinic growth, position will float to North County as well as additional clinics throughout San Diego. Must be willing to travel.
