Hiring Range
The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $115,000 - $140,000.

About the Job
Reporting to the Identity & Access Management Manager, the Campus Card Systems Analyst leads the design, implementation, and support of enterprise campus card and access management solutions at UC Merced, with a primary focus on Card operations (CSGold). The role supports auxiliary as well as student- and admin-facing services, including Dining, Student Affairs, housing, parking, facilities and other campus operations, ensuring secure and scalable system performance across the institution. Success in this role depends on building strong partnerships with Facilities, Auxiliary Services, Dining, Student Affairs, and other campus units while delivering high-quality, user-focused solutions; relies upon strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex, integrated environments and to evaluate and implement effective tools and technologies; and requires a deep understanding of higher education environments, industry best practices, and institutional policies to develop, integrate, and maintain applications that support business operations related to access management, point of sale, and campus card services. The ideal candidate communicates effectively, collaborates well, and is a proactive self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced, research-intensive environment and is committed to operational excellence and enhancing the student, faculty and staff experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies advanced business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define highly complex systems scope and objectives based on advanced knowledge of applicable business practices, processes and systems and industry standards to meet end-user needs. Works at the highest technical level with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Web Services (SOAP/RESTful), XML, Excel Templates, Workflow, SFTP, and work with SAAS based solution (CSGOLD, Illumia, CashNet, Canvas, StarRez, NuPark) to integrate them via API. Report on project status, issues, and resolves a wide range of technical problems.
- Demonstrates competency in selecting tools, methods, and techniques to obtain results and technically astute with the ability to troubleshoot complex applications with multiple integrations.
- Collaborate across Information Technology, campus, and the UC on projects taking on a multitude of roles from project lead, developer, analyst, tester. Communicate issues clearly and train/develop other team members. Work with Service Now, Jira, and other organizational tools. Support production, upgrades, changes, and user support requests via on-call rotation. Create and maintain functional BP080 and BR100, and technical MD050, MD070 documentation. Lead cross-functional teams to address complex business or systems issues. Initiate, facilitates, implements, and documents work process changes. Prepares and approves or obtains approval for business process and procedural documentation. Initiate and oversees changes in processes and procedures. Set the technical requirements for complex specifications.
- Performs highly complex setups, configurations, analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into the proper system and process requirement specifications in the areas of Campus Card, Campus Access Management and Safety, CSGold, Food, Nutrition, Dining Services and Payments. Serve as a cross-module integration project coordinator to assist in the resolution of cross-module issues. Review and test new functionality, patches, and releases prior to deployment. Evaluate customized solutions and develop approaches collaboratively with business teams on how to best leverage delivered CsGold functionality, minimize customizations, and maximize benefits across the enterprise. Drive results and maximize value by staying current with Illumia product and service enhancements, roadmap, and platform upgrades.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology; and
- 4 years of progressively responsible related experience in the4 area of Campus Card, Lock and Access/physical access security management; and at least
- 4 years working in a complex IT organization and demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology Systems and Practices; and
- 6 years of experience working with financial student systems in an enterprise applications team for an information technology organization.
- Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
- Functional and technical design and configuration experience with some combination of the following CSGold Access Management, CSGold Student ID, CSGold Platform
- Manage Finance/Student-IT related projects, coordinate with project committee, and regular analysis of work streams. Includes RICE items and design, testing, documenting, training, and implementation of any enhancement of financial systems.
- Possess complete and thorough working knowledge of accounting, housing, physical access management, student, staff and faculty life cycle principles.
- Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of CSGold and Micros POS, business process, Housing access and residential life workflows, SQL, PL/SQL, Report Development.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
- Flexibility to work independently with minimal supervision, or collaborate on a multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with business.
- Ability to maintain a stakeholder management plan for each active CSGold module assigned as well as develop new stakeholder management plans for new solutions.
- Demonstrates abilities to partner in creating an atmosphere of trust, supporting diverse views to encourage innovation and design thinking.
- Experience working in or integrating with Oracle ERP, Ellucian SIS, SalesForce CRM systems and other large industry leading software.
