As a Closer III, you will prepare all closing documents in compliance with all federal and state requirements and ensure all required documentation per investor guidelines/regulations for each specific loan product is contained in the closing documents. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including providing assistance to coworkers with difficult internal problems, customer inquiries or problems, and maintain a high level of loan quality evidenced by Suspense and QC audit. Additionally, you will perform special projects and other duties as assigned, you may lead, direct, or train new closers and act as point of contact for closing department. You are expected to build a great rapport with clients and fellow associates, and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.


All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.



Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications.



  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years mortgage loan closing experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with high volume and complex loans.
  • 5+ years of experience using mortgage software.


Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some of the following qualifications:



  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • 4+ years of mortgage loan closing experience or equivalent experience in mortgage closing procedures and policies.
  • 5+ years of Encompass mortgage software experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as a team player and be flexible as to current urgencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with customers and co-workers.
  • Good math, typing, and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment and assist other teams as needed.
  • Analytical, organizational, time management and problem solving ability.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance issues affecting all aspects of the mortgage lending process.
  • Knowledge of real estate practices, financial industry leading regulations, investor guidelines, and loan compliance practices.
  • Needs moderate to minimal direction to complete job duties, plan and complete goals.
  • Ability to close high volume of mortgage loans per month with minimal management direction.
