Job Description

Summary

Under minimal supervision using formal and informal blueprints fabricate prototype components and assemblies from the initial design phase all the way through full production. Must be able to coordinate complicated set-ups and operate both CNC and manual lathes. New hire is required to operate standard machine shop equipment and could read and interpret manufacturing drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate a wide variety of machine shop equipment including CNC lathe.
  • Interpret complex blueprints and apply knowledge to set-up and operation.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of materials, super alloys (Inconel, titanium, A286, Stainless and alloy steels), and process selection.
  • Must know advanced machine sequences of operation and be able to apply them to set-up and operation of equipment.
  • Must be able to coordinate with outside vendors for parts processing i.e. heat treating, plating and tool purchasing.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Help mentor and train new machine operators and assemblers.
  • Develop manufacturing processes which become standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are reprehensive of the knowledge, skills and / or ability required.

  • Y14.5 Blueprint Interpretation
  • 6-8 years minimum in CNC lathe operation and set-up.
  • Knowledge of machine sequence of operations and application of that knowledge in set-up lay-out and tool selection.
  • Must have tool design experience.
  • Must be able to think on your feet in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Parts testing and trouble shooting background a plus.

Education and Experience

Applicants are required to have a minimum of five years' CNC lathe, and mill experience. Applicants must have knowledge of standard shop practices and procedures along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and demonstrate the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

1st shift: 6am - 2:30pm

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine data on manufacturing routers and SPC charts.

Mathematical Skill

Applicants must demonstrate the use of technical math (trigonometry, geometry) to solve standard manufacturing problems and basic calculations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.75 to $43.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
