All rejected castings, whether from in-process inspection, final inspection, or outsider customers (customer returns) go through the material review area. The Material Review Technician is responsible for dispositioning all rejects back into process or scrapped out. Essential Functions: Know, uphold, and abide by plant Safety rules, related EH&S rules and regulation Disposition rejections by creating rework travelers in Visibility and distributing Active member of daily scrap meeting to disposition scrap to departments for repair and into scrap barrels Gather proposed scrap from all areas in plant on daily basis Working with department supervisors, inspection personnel, and engineers to accurately determine rework/ scrap reason codes Determine when parts should be brought to the attention of various engineers for possible serious issues, as well as when it is time to no longer rework parts Utilize knowledge of customer and casting requirements in disposition Communicates issues effectively and in a timely manner with Quality Manager Work in close partnership with managers, supervisors, leads and operators in a collaborative manner to ensure all issues are understood and addressed Know, uphold, and abide by all r elated regulations and company policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and good manufacturing processes. Addresses problems and issues with a team first mentality Put s quality and integrity of paperwork and work instructions above all else Ability to solve problems with limited information supplied Performs other functions as Training & Qualifications: Requires extensive experience in backend operations and customer requirements for casting Intermediate to advanced capabilities in Visibility Intermediate to advanced comfort in using computers Able to understand and apply sound judgment to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and management PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Work is generally performed in a production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; perform repetitive wrist, hand and / or finger movement. The employee is regularly required to: talk, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hand. May work with hazardous materials; related training may be required. Some work required near moving mechanical parts. Must be able to occasionally move objects up to 35 lbs and frequently move objects of 10-20 lbs. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $24.75 to $31.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
