The Chemist III is a senior-level technical role responsible for performing complex analytical testing, troubleshooting, and method development in a fast-paced contract laboratory environment. This position requires a high level of scientific expertise, independent judgment, and proactive problem-solving. The Chemist III is responsible for leading projects from initiation through completion, managing scope, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, and cGMP standards. This role is highly project-based and requires strong project management skills to effectively balance multiple priorities, coordinate resources, and consistently deliver high-quality results. The role also includes research and development of analytical methods to expand laboratory capabilities and support client needs.

  • Perform advanced analyses using ICP-MS, HPLC, and UV-Vis across complex matrices.
  • Research, develop, and optimize new analytical methods to support evolving client and regulatory needs.
  • Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods; author protocols and reports.
  • Interpret complex datasets and provide clear, defensible conclusions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, and data integrity expectations.
  • Own projects from initiation through completion including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership during method development and project execution to ensure scientifically sound approaches.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to developing team members.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders regarding technical results and project status.
  • Ability to be at the physical location of the job for the designated work schedule.
  • Will be asked to train someone and/or participate in a task force to improve company procedures or operations.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT FIT

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in analytical chemistry in a QC or regulated laboratory.
  • Proficiency with ICP-MS, HPLC, and/or UV-Vis.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and GMP standards.
  • Experience with dietary supplements preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in method research, development, and validation.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including handling multiple projects and timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • A legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a drug screen and a background check in accordance with IFF standards.
