Position Summary
The Senior Tax Specialist serves as the organization's subject matter expert in international tax. This role is responsible for a wide range of international tax functions, including compliance, reporting, audit support, balance sheet reconciliation, research, process improvements, and providing financial insights. The position collaborates with internal stakeholders across CAE USA and CAE Inc., as well as external consultants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in international tax.
  • Mentor current tax accountant on International Permanent Establishment issues.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual international tax reports.
  • Maintain organized and accurate tax records and documentation.
  • Identify and pursue all applicable tax credits related to our International activities.
  • Partner with the Contracts Department to review international tax terms on new contracts.
  • Track and report tax risks and requirements for existing contracts.
  • Coordinate with external consultants on complex tax matters.
  • Collaborate with the CAE Inc. International Tax Team.
  • Support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and special projects.
  • Assist with the accounting close process.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a businessrelated field.
  • Minimum 5 years of tax accounting experience with international tax knowledge.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Costpoint, Cognos, Adaptive, and Hyperion (HFM)
  • CPA or CMA certification or Advanced Degree.

Security Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company security, data protection, and usage policies
  • Properly mark and handle sensitive information; share only on a needtoknow basis
  • Do not disclose company information externally without approval
  • Access and store all government and proprietary information only on company-provided systems
  • Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment
Professional office environment with regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands
Physical demands are consistent with standard office requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
