A Brief Overview Responsible for providing both clinical and non-clinical hair cutting, styling services and/or scalp treatment for patients and caregivers. Partners with division leadership to enhance Salon Services programming.
What you will do
- Provides hair cutting, styling services and/or scalp treatment to patients and families upon referral and as appropriate. Services include but are not limited to:
- Routine Hair Care
- Harm Prevention/Treatment
- Bereavement Care
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to integrate therapeutic or normalizing goals to promote optimal patient care that is family-centered and in alignment with CHOP's ICARE values.
- Educates clinical staff on appropriate hair care technique
- Develops educational material for clinical staff to ensure appropriate scalp and hair care for patient safety.
- Maintains and adheres to scheduling calendar of appointments.
- Collaborates with Infection Prevention and Control, Public Relations, and other departments as needed.
- Serves as a financial steward by implementing cost effective programming and adhering to budget constraints.
- Ensures hair cutting/styling services follow safety, sanitation, health and CHOP standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED - Required
Experience Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years Relevant hair cutting, styling, and/or barber experience - Required
- Experience working with children and adolescents - Required
- Experience with providing services in association with bereavement - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Cosmetologist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
- Cosmetology Teaching License - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required

$25.50 - $31.85 Hourly
