Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $116,534-$154,413. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Staff Process Engineer! The Staff Manufacturing Engineer leads complex, cross-functional projects that span facilities, product lines, and systems. They are recognized subject matter experts in manufacturing engineering across value streams. They drive strategic planning, systems-level thinking, and mentor others, focusing on long-term improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Key Responsibilities:
Systems Project Execution: Lead large-scale complex projects, such as relocating production lines across buildings or facilities. Organize cross-functional teams, define project scope, and manage execution across departments and facilities. Strategic Process Ownership: Drive development and renovation standards for manufacturing processes, including equipment selection and purchasing strategies. Ensure alignment with long-term operational goals and safety, quality, design and cost metrics. Technical Expertise: Serve as a go-to expert for resolving high-impact, complex manufacturing challenges. Provide expertise across departments. Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to drive sustainable improvements. Equipment Management: Manage equipment upgrades and replacements, including direct engagement with suppliers. Ensure that the equipment now meets performance, safety, and ergonomic standards. Cross-Functional Team Management: Build and lead project teams composed of members from multiple departments. Coordinate efforts to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions across the production system. Team Development: Actively mentor and coach junior engineers and peers. Provide technical training and share expertise in specialized areas to build team capability and foster professional growth. Problem Solving: Lead practical problem-solving (PPS) efforts to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues. Implement sustainable corrective actions and communicate decisions effectively to production teams. Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules Collaborate with the R&D team on development efforts and needs. Qualify new tooling/process equipment for manufacturing by obtaining dimensional and validations test results on manufactured product. Visit suppliers for support or Factory Acceptance Testing. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required. Communicate effectively and respectfully with others. Other responsibilities as assigned.
What you'll Need To Succeed:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering. Preferred: Master's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 7- 9 Years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with proven experience in designing and implementing processes within a high-volume, high-mix, or semi-automated manufacturing environment. Specific expertise in machining and turning operations. Will be expected to lead projects to improve KPI's at horizontal and vertical machining centers and turning centers. This includes troubleshooting machine operations. Experience with Okuma turning centers and Mazak horizontal / vertical machines preferred. Ability to work with tool designers and CNC team to develop and improve workholding and tooling. Great skills in effective problem-solving and leading project planning initiatives. Able to communicate across some levels of the organization related to concepts of supply-chain, production, and manufacturing. A great understanding of various manufacturing technologies and methods, preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry. Great interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience. Great communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), able to partner with and communicate with customers, both technical and non-technical. Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function. Good mentoring and coaching skills to assist lower-level engineers and act as a technical knowledge mentor. Good organizational planning, coordinating internal and external resources, and juggling key demands. Sound business sense and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed actions, solve complex problems, and drive learning. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary. Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI, or other similar systems. Including great data analysis skills.
