The Department of Global Affairs at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Faculty-Led Program Coordinator. About the Opportunity The Study Abroad Faculty-Led Program Coordinator supports the development, promotion, and implementation of faculty-led study abroad programs. Reporting to the Faculty-Led Program Manager, this role focuses on enhancing student support services and driving program recruitment efforts. The assistant serves as a key point of contact for prospective and admitted students, helping ensure a smooth, inclusive, and well-informed experience from inquiry through program completion. What You'll Do Student Support & Advising
- Serve as a primary contact for students interested in faculty-led study abroad programs- responding to inquiries via email, phone, and in-person advising.
- Guide students through the application process, including program selection, eligibility, and deadlines.
- Support pre-departure preparation, including orientations, documentation tracking, and communication of program expectations.
- Assist with student accommodations in coordination with campus partners (e.g., disability services, counseling, health services).
- Monitor student participation and engagement, flagging concerns and supporting retention efforts.
- Maintain accurate student records in relevant databases and systems.
Program Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to increase participation in faculty-led study abroad programs.
- Conduct outreach through classroom presentations, information sessions, tabling events, and digital campaigns.
- Collaborate with faculty leaders to promote specific programs and highlight unique academic and cultural components.
- Assist in creating and updating marketing materials, including flyers, website content, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Analyze recruitment data and trends to inform outreach strategies and improve yield.
Program Administration
- Support the logistical coordination of faculty-led programs, including application management, enrollment tracking, and communication timelines.
- Assist in organizing pre-departure and re-entry programming.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program readiness.
- Provide administrative support to the Faculty-Led Program Manager as needed. This could include reconciling pcard purchases or scheduling meetings.
Equity & Inclusion
- Promote inclusive practices in student outreach and support, with attention to underrepresented and first-time study abroad participants.
- Help develop resources that address diverse student needs, including financial, cultural, and accessibility considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service or a related field.
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
