About This Role

The Executive Assistant I provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position manages the daily operations of the Dean's Office by coordinating executive scheduling, communications, travel, meetings, committee administration, and confidential records. The role prepares correspondence, reports, agendas, and other official documents; assists with event planning and donor engagement activities; and serves as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and external partners.

The Executive Assistant also coordinates administrative activities across the Dean's Office, supports college committees, assists with special projects, and collaborates with university offices to ensure the efficient operation of executive functions. This position exercises independent judgment in prioritizing work, managing confidential information, and responding to a wide variety of administrative matters while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the professionalism and integrity of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The office works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, university leadership, and external partners to advance the college's missions in education, research, clinical service, and outreach. Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and nine years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience providing executive-level administrative support.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, committees, conferences, and events.
  • Experience preparing correspondence, reports, and publications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
