The Product Owner partners with Rumpke business leadership to define, plan, and deliver technology solutions that support internal business functions, including Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR. This role owns and manages technology roadmaps and is directly responsible for planning, leading, and delivering technology initiatives from concept through implementation. As both the strategic owner and execution lead, the Product Owner translates business priorities into actionable plans, manages scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks, and ensures solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Product Strategy, Technology Roadmaps & Planning:
    * Define, maintain, and govern technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy, operational priorities, and long-term objectives
    * Translate strategic priorities into sequenced initiatives, releases, and milestones, balancing short-term delivery with long-term roadmap goals
    * Lead roadmap prioritization and trade-off decisions, considering business value, capacity, dependencies, risk, and technical constraints
    * Continuously refine roadmaps based on delivery progress, business changes, and emerging opportunities
  • Project Management & Delivery Ownership:
    * Directly manage IT initiatives across the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, and stabilization
    * Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, resource needs, and dependencies aligned with roadmap commitments
    * Manage scope, timelines, risks, issues, and change requests, ensuring impacts are assessed and communicated
    * Facilitate project status meetings, track action items, and drive cross-functional execution
    * Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with approved technology roadmaps
    * Provide clear status, risk, and delivery reporting to business and IT leadership
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Product Ownership:
    * Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, refine, and prioritize requirements aligned with roadmap objectives and business outcomes
    * Own feature prioritization, backlog management, and release planning
    * Act as the primary point of accountability between business leaders and technical teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making
    * Communicate trade-offs, impacts, and value realization to support informed decisions
  • Performance Management, Governance & Financial Oversight:
    * Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, business value, delivery predictability, and operational effectiveness
    * Manage product budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization to support roadmap and project execution
    * Ensure compliance with IT governance standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements
    * Provide regular roadmap, delivery, and performance updates to leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will manage1-5 employees
  • This position will not oversee and direct other managers



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency using product management / project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, and MS Project
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Strong critical thinking, negotiation, and leadership skills to drive collaboration across teams
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, backlog management, and project leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Product Owner or in a similar role managing internal IT initiatives
  • Strong experience with the Salesforce platform, including both functional and technical capabilities
  • Experience implementing and supporting Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Experience implementing and supporting Salesforce Field Service strongly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales, Experience, and Revenue Clouds is a plus
  • Project Management Professional and Product Owner certifications preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred

  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
