About the Sustainability Master of Business Administration (SMBA) Graduate Program:
The Sustainability Master of Business Administration (
SMBA) is a graduate program designed for changemakers eager to transform business and enterprise into a force for a more equitable and sustainable world. This program weaves sustainability and social impact into the heart of its curriculum, equipping business leaders, entrepreneurs, and sustainability professionals with a new set of skills geared towards empowering our workforces and communities. It focuses on developing products and services that not only minimize their impact on the social and ecological systems we rely on but also enhance and help restore them.
This fully online program prepares students for careers in sustainability assessment and reporting, impact-driven marketing, sustainable/circular supply chain management, nonprofit management, impact investing, social enterprise development, sustainable business consulting and management, sustainable and socially responsible business development, and more.
The
SMBA program design takes a different approach to business education. It centers Evergreen's focus on local and global commitment to social justice, diversity, environmental stewardship, and public interest service. Unlike many existing graduate business programs, which provide a limited "sustainability specialization" or a few sustainability electives, this proposed program integrates sustainability throughout the curriculum in a way that is unique to Evergreen's mission and strengths.
