ABOUT THE ROLE

The EHS Assistant supports the Safety team in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-organized work environment. This role focuses on coordinating safety programs, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with key safety initiatives across the organization. This position reports to the Safety Analytics Manager.

Salary range $19.22-$23.00 an hour based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including OSHA training, certifications, incident logs, audits, and JHAs
  • Organize and manage Safety Department files, records, and internal Teams channels
  • Coordinate and schedule safety trainings, meetings, FIT tests, medical evaluations, and company safety events
  • Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual safety performance reports
  • Support safety-related reimbursement programs (PPE, tools, boots, prescription safety glasses, and incentives)
  • Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and root cause tracking
  • Collaborate with Safety team members to implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Provide administrative and project support for safety initiatives and special projects
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims tracking and documentation
  • Support overall communication and coordination across safety and field teams


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in administrative or safety support functions, with a strong ability to manage records and coordinate multiple priorities. They are a proactive team player who communicates effectively across departments and thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. A strong understanding of safety processes, data systems, and confidentiality, along with a commitment to supporting workplace safety initiatives, will set them apart.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of administrative or safety support experience preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety compliance processes is a plus
  • Experience with workers' compensation documentation or claims tracking preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and comfortable working in data systems (LMS or databases)
  • Spanish language skills are a strong plus


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
