Job Summary The Quality Assurance Engineer I is an entrylevel technical role responsible for supporting quality assurance activities to ensure products, processes, and systems meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on applying foundational engineering and quality principles while learning structured quality methods, problemsolving tools, and compliance expectations.
Job Description Role Overview The Quality Assurance Engineer I supports the Quality organization by assisting with quality planning, inspection support, data analysis, and documentation across manufacturing or operational environments. The role is developmental and builds a strong foundation in quality systems, standards, and engineering discipline. This position typically reports to a Quality Assurance Engineer II, Senior Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, or Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Engineering Support
Support implementation of quality assurance activities for products or processes Assist with inspection, testing, and verification of materials or products Help ensure adherence to quality specifications, standards, and work instructions
Inspection, Testing & Data Collection
Support incoming, inprocess, and final inspection activities Collect and record quality data accurately Assist with basic measurement, testing, and evaluation activities
Documentation & Quality Records
Prepare and maintain quality documentation such as inspection records, reports, and logs Ensure quality records are complete, accurate, and properly retained Support audit readiness through disciplined documentation practices
Nonconformance & Corrective Action Support
Assist with documenting nonconformances and quality issues Support rootcause analysis and corrective action activities Track corrective actions and verify completion as directed
Process & Product Monitoring
Monitor process performance and quality metrics Assist with identifying trends or deviations from specifications Escalate quality risks or issues under guidance
Compliance & Standards Awareness
Follow internal quality systems, procedures, and control plans Support compliance with customer, regulatory, or industry standards (e.g., ISO, IATF, AS, FDA environments as applicable) Learn applicable quality and compliance requirements
CrossFunctional Collaboration
Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams Support communication of quality requirements and findings Participate in quality meetings or reviews as assigned
Continuous Improvement & Learning
Learn quality tools such as SPC, basic FMEA concepts, and process capability Participate in continuous improvement or problemsolving activities Develop foundational quality engineering and analytical skills
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required Entrylevel role; typically 0-2 years of experience, including internships or coops in quality, manufacturing, or engineering roles
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Foundational understanding of engineering and quality principles Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Basic analytical and problemsolving skills Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures Proficiency with basic computer tools (spreadsheets, documents) Clear written and verbal communication skills Strong willingness to learn quality systems and standards Additional Job Details Technical - T1
