Job Description

We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations for our 24/7 blown film manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while developing a skilled maintenance team and driving continuous improvement.

You'll lead a team of six maintenance technicians supporting four rotating production crews and partner closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to maximize uptime and plant performance.

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires active involvement on the manufacturing floor. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment issues, mentoring technicians, improving reliability, and creating a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

What You'll Do

Lead Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a Zero Incident safety culture

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, NFPA 70E, and other regulatory requirements

  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions

  • Ensure contractor safety compliance

Develop & Lead the Maintenance Team

  • Coach, mentor, and develop six maintenance technicians

  • Conduct performance reviews and development planning

  • Build training and cross-training programs

  • Foster accountability, engagement, and teamwork

Provide Hands-On Technical Leadership

  • Support troubleshooting and critical equipment repairs

  • Assist with preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and shutdown activities

  • Lead equipment startups following major repairs

  • Maintain expertise in PLCs, drives, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems

Improve Equipment Reliability

Maintain and improve reliability of:

  • Blown Film Extrusion Lines

  • Winders, Die Systems, Air Rings

  • Gravimetric Blenders and Resin Conveying Systems

  • Chillers, Air Compressors, Cooling Towers, and Vacuum Systems

  • Packaging Equipment, Plant Utilities, and Building Systems

Drive improvements in:

  • Equipment Uptime

  • MTBF and MTTR

  • OEE Support

  • Overall Reliability

Manage Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Develop and execute PM schedules

  • Achieve PM completion targets above 95%

  • Improve maintenance planning and CMMS utilization

  • Manage shutdown planning and predictive maintenance programs

Partner with Operations

  • Prioritize maintenance activities and respond to downtime issues

  • Lead root cause analysis and eliminate repeat failures

  • Support daily operational meetings and plant objectives

Drive Continuous Improvement

Lead projects involving:

  • PLC and controls upgrades

  • Reliability improvements

  • Safety enhancements

  • Energy reduction initiatives

  • Equipment replacement and modernization

  • Lean manufacturing practices

Manage Maintenance Resources

  • Maintenance budget and capital planning

  • Spare parts inventory

  • Contractor management

  • Equipment lifecycle planning

  • Vendor relationships and purchasing

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred

  • Equivalent military or technical experience considered

Experience

  • 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience

  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience

  • Blown film or extrusion experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred

  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with CMMS systems

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Success Measures

  • Equipment Uptime: 85%

  • PM Completion: 95%

  • Planned Maintenance: 70%

  • Emergency Work Orders: < 20%

  • Work Orders Completed On-Time: 95%

  • Maintenance Costs and Overtime Within Budget

  • Zero Recordable Safety Incidents
