Job Summary: This role is part of the Accounting & Reporting department and oversees a team of employees within multiple significant accounting functions for Nintendo of America (NOA) and subsidiaries.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES



  • Leads revenue, inventory, and cost accounting functions for Nintendo of America and its subsidiaries, ensuring accurate accounting treatment, effective controls, and timely business insights.
  • Oversees complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, inventory valuation, cost capitalization, reserves, reconciliations, reporting, disclosures, and GAAP application.
  • Maintains accounting policies, procedures, and practices that support GAAP compliance, JSOX requirements, internal controls, and audit readiness.
  • Represents Finance in business developments, cross-functional initiatives, and projects, advising on finance requirements, reporting impacts, controls, and KPIs.
  • Leads process improvement, automation, GenAI, and risk mitigation efforts to strengthen accounting operations while maintaining data integrity, confidentiality, and control requirements.
  • Manages project plans and priorities for assigned functional areas, ensuring milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly defined and executed.
  • Leads and develops high-performing teams through coaching, prioritization, performance feedback, training, and situational leadership.


SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS



  • Ten (10) or more years of related accounting experience, including at least five (5) years of people management experience.
  • Extensive technical accounting expertise in revenue recognition, inventory accounting, cost accounting, GAAP, financial reporting, and SOX/JSOX or equivalent internal controls frameworks.
  • Strategic leadership experience advising cross-functional stakeholders, influencing decisions, and driving process, system, automation, control, and risk assessment improvements.
  • Proven people leadership with the ability to build team capability, coach managers and individual contributors, manage performance, and apply situational leadership.
  • Fluency with generative AI tools and practical experience identifying responsible AI-enabled opportunities to improve accounting processes, analytics, documentation, and productivity.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. CPA preferred.


Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

This position is hybridin Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division.This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
