What to Expect

Tesla Energy is looking for a highly skilled Electronic Technician to build, rework and maintain wire harnesses to support the development of our energy products and test setups. Projects are open ended and often with limited up-front guidance. The successful candidate for this position must have a background in electrical systems, particularly related to low voltage wiring. We expect candidates for this role who possess a wealth of experience, enabling them to independently construct electrical harnesses according to provided drawings.


What You'll Do
  • Interpret harness drawings, execute precision cuts, strips, crimps, and meticulously assemble high-density harnesses in strict adherence to provided specifications
  • Maintaining a lab, ensuring that it is well-stocked with the tools and materials needed to make prototype wire harnesses
  • Supporting bench-top electrical system builds and testing, including, obtaining and tracking LV components from other Tesla groups as well as 3rd party vendors
  • Providing clear, accurate timely information and feedback to engineers on any problems found during testing and trial builds
  • A wide variety of other technician tasks, supporting the engineering team as needed

What You'll Bring
  • Previous experience with low voltage wire harnesses: connectors, contact terminals, ground terminals, cables, clips and taping
  • Able to read electrical schematics and harness drawings and create a harness from scratch
  • Able to use multi-meters, soldering iron, wire crimping tools, hand tools for extracting pins from connectors
  • 2 year technical/automotive degree or 3+ years lab experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair on various energy products
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, computer skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
