Overview
The Massage Lead in the Spa Department serves as the supervisory support for all spa therapists, overseeing training for new team members on massage and body treatments, managing professional product inventory and purchase orders, and creating therapist schedules based on business needs. This role participates in Spa Leadership meetings, conducts daily reviews of the payroll system, and ensures all therapists comply with company policies and service standards. The Massage Lead is also responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences by performing services that exceed expectations, maintaining strict safety protocols before, during, and after treatments, ensuring appointments begin on time, and upholding the cleanliness and professionalism of all massage rooms. This position reports to the Spa Director and Spa Supervisor.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of therapists schedules and input into spa software system
* Daily review of Kronos system punches
* Preparation of professional product purchase orders
* Coaching and counseling of therapists
* Development and scheduling of training for new therapists
* Assisting in other areas of spa
* Assist team leaders and manager
* Cleanliness of Spa
* Know the telephone functions
* Handle problem calls and complaints
* AM and PM checklists
* Completion of all closing procedures
* Must learn and comply with all Hotel safety rules; must use appropriate safety equipment at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisor or Manager On Duty; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function (This includes training your subordinates on these procedures, and making certain that they are well educated on what to and what not to be scenarios); and must be familiar with emergency exits of work area.
Qualifications
* Minimum 500 hours massage training
* State of Florida license required and at least two years of service.
* At least one year experience in upscale operation of four or five diamond/star resort.
* Ability to remain calm and organized in busy environment.
* High school level reading, writing and mathematical skills. Excellent communication skills in English and able to print legibly.
* Physically able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours. Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
* CPR certification required.
