The Box Builder will build crates and boxes for shipping product.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Builds specialty boxes for any product that does not fit into a standard shipping container.
  • Maintains a safe workspace while operating power tools in the woodworking area.
  • Communicates closely with Shipping, Operations, and other Manufacturing personnel to obtain required crates needed on a daily basis.
  • Safely operates a company-rented motor vehicle in accordance with all applicable state and local traffic laws.
  • Maintains a log book for the company-rented box truck.
  • Receives daily route instructions from management, including local or long-distance delivery runs.
  • Loads and unloads assigned delivery vehicle.
  • Ensures all deliveries and pick-up items are properly accounted for and all necessary documentation is processed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensures proper care of company-rented vehicle and reports and damages or repairs to EHS and Supply Chain Manager.
  • Communicates completed delivery times to Shipping and Receiving.
  • Operates forklift.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
  • Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Performs other duties as
    assigned or required by the position.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Basic construction capabilities required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and multiply and divide in 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency, weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Annual baseline hearing test required.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

This is a generic job posting for a Box Builder. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Pay range: $18.00-19.50/hour
