Description

Under direct supervision of the Breast Imaging Manager, and Medical Director, the Breast Imaging technologist will produce diagnostic images of the breast utilizing a variety of mammography equipment. Some duties include patient education prior to the examination; preparation of needed supplies and equipment set up; assisting in performing sterile technique procedures; following established quality assurance procedures; maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality; assisting the Radiologist as needed; performing related duties as requested; and maintaining departmental standards related to MQSA data tracking and Quality Control requirements. The Mammography Technologist must demonstrate a professional attitude by being courteous towards patients, co-workers, and physicians.

You are expected to possess the skills needed to perform digital mammography, and maintain knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position. The ideal candidate must be graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association. A mammography license is required plus an ARRT (M). 1-2 years of experience in Breast Imaging is preferred.

You will be required to float between UCLA Heath Breast Imaging Centers and participate in rotating shifts as needed. The primary rotation sites will be between Westlake Village and West Valley campuses.


Salary Range: $52.22 - $68.84/Hourly
Qualifications

  • ARRT (M) license - required
  • CRT (R) (M) Mammography license - required
  • BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
  • At least 1 year of experience in Breast Imaging - required
  • At least 1 year of DEXA experience - preferred
  • Breast Ultrasound experience - preferred
  • Associate's Degree or Higher - preferred
  • Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)
  • Ability to prioritize work, handling multiple tasks to completion, within the time allotted
  • Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills effectively and diplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, and other
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between- types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
