Our Newburyport location at 260 Merrimack Street is easy to access and conveniently situated just minutes off I95 and Route 1, making commuting simple from both the North Shore and southern New Hampshire. The site is located along the Merrimack River, offering a scenic waterfront setting, and is just a short distance from downtown Newburyport's shops, restaurants, and walking paths. This site is a dynamic, community-based multispecialty practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This site brings together a collaborative team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff offering a broad range of services, including primary care, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, pulmonology, rheumatology, and additional specialty care. With a strong connection to the world-class resources of Mass General Brigham, the Newburyport practice combines the feel of a local community clinic with the clinical excellence, innovation, and support of a leading academic healthcare system. We are seeking a full-time 40-hr LPN to support our Internal Medicine team! The desired schedule for this position is 4, 10-hour days from 7:30am-6:00pm with 1 rotating day off during the week. Summary Under the supervision of a Nurse Manager, licensed clinical leader, or non-clinical practice manager - and in collaboration with other team members - provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the scope of practice. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies, and reviews medical records for pertinent previous and current information. -Measure and record patients' vital signs. Based on the chief complaint, the physician may also perform additional screening exams as needed, such as hearing, vision, depression, and falls assessments. -Measure and record patients' vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. -Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, administering enemas or douches, applying alcohol rubs, massaging, performing catheterizations, administering routine immunizations, and/or providing nebulizer treatments and visual acuity tests. -Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician and registered nurse). -Communicates post-visit findings and participates in the plan of care, in coordination with the appropriate clinical staff -Performs a variety of office responsibilities: answers phones and takes messages, and performs triage within the scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner. -Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples. -Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. -Assist patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, transferring in bed, and standing and walking.
