Department Summary The UCLA Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) Program is dedicated to promoting worker health, safety, and wellbeing, and building capacity for workers and worker organizations to take action to improve working conditions. LOSH offers high-quality training and education, participatory action research, policy analysis, and worker leadership development to advance worker rights and protections. LOSH is a unit of both the Institute for Research and Labor and Employment (IRLE) and the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH). Position Summary Under the direction of the WRUC Program Manager, the WRUC Program Specialist supports LOSH staff in course coordination, training activities, and development of education materials under our hazmat and environmental health worker training grant. Assist with course registrations, invoicing, certificates, and other paperwork. Respond professionally to written and phone inquiries from potential trainees, employers, partners, and members of the general public. Support LOSH trainers in preparing and submitting course materials and preparing supplies for upcoming courses. Maintain inventory of training equipment and supplies. Provide logistical support to trainers during course sessions. Summarize course evaluations and assist with trainee follow up. Assist LOSH staff with maintaining LOSH technical and regulatory library, online factsheets, and in-house education resources. Participate in project planning and debrief meetings. Other tasks as assigned. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.
