Join us in serving our Maryland residents, visitors, and businesses!The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's (MDOT SHA) District 1 - Salisbury is currently recruiting for a Computer Information Services Specialist Supervisor position. The employee is responsible for the computer management and telecommunications for District 1, encompassing the District Office and maintenance facilities in Cambridge, Princess Anne, Salisbury, and Snow Hill.

The Computer Information Services Specialist Supervisor is the supervisory level of work evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software. The incumbent oversees system management, workstation maintenance, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising and directing the work of staff-level Computer Information Services Specialists and other IT support staff
- Determining computer hardware and software solutions for users and recommending acquisition of appropriate technology resources and services
- Overseeing desktop support, addressing on-site user issues with hardware and software
- Coordinating the development and/or implementation of various software applications
- Asset management to include delivering, deploying, disposing, and inventorying of assets
The current vacancy exists at MDOT SHA Office of Information Technology, which is located in Salisbury, MD (Wicomico County).
This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and required on-site work hours.
Employees may be required to work beyond their shift, to include off hours, evenings, nights, and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software.
*Selective Qualification: One (1) year of this experience must have involved the supervision of others.
*This statement contains a selective qualification which is more focused in scope than the minimum qualifications for this classification. Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability). No substitutions are allowed for a Selective Qualification.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A+ Applications Expert and Network Administrator Certifications
- MSCE or MCNE Certification
- Advanced knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol network services
- 2 years IT Service Management (ITSM) experience
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
- Familiarity with Windows 10 and 11 OS.
- Experience with Help Desk Ticketing System.

- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
