- You will work collaboratively with site management and regional safety leadership to achieve zeroincident performance goals across distribution operations and site activities
- In this role, you will provide direct support to the existing site Safety Specialist while taking ownership of distribution safety performance and training initiatives
- You will cultivate strong partnerships with drivers, employees, and contractors, fostering a proactive and deeply rooted safety culture across all distribution-related functions
- A key focus of this role will be onboarding and training new drivers and employees, as well as delivering consistent, high-quality ongoing safety training to ensure sustained compliance and performance
- You will identify opportunities to improve safety trends by analyzing performance data, driver behavior, and field observations
- You will implement corrective and preventive actions with urgency, particularly in areas impacting transportation safety and operational risk
- In collaboration with line management, you will support the development and execution of safety plans for distribution activities and major maintenance events, ensuring safe, compliant, and controlled operations
- Additionally, you will provide structured support for incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), reporting, and corrective action follow-through to drive long-term improvement-especially in transportation and low-speed vehicle incidents
- You will regularly review and manage compliance systems to ensure all required safety, environmental, and transportation-related tasks are completed, this includes supporting distribution-focused training, driver observations, ride-alongs, performance evaluations, and site inspections
- Lastly, you will monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- You will facilitate training programs, conduct safety meetings, deliver engaging presentations, and provide technical expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP), while maintaining a strong field presence and engaging directly with drivers and operations personnel to uphold risk mitigation and operational excellence
What makes you great
- You
are a safetyfocused professional with a bachelor's degree in safety, or distribution or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong technical and regulatory capability - You will bring three to five years of experience in safety, operations, or
distribution within an industrial environment, demonstrating confidence in both independent and teambased work - In addition, you should show proven experience with Occupational Safety and
Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Transportation compliance programs including safety program development and regulatory reporting - You shall communicate clearly and confidently, using strong written and
verbal skills to engage employees and management at every level - Additionally, you are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint, using these tools to prepare documentation, analyze data, and deliver impactful presentations - Furthermore, preferred qualifications include safety certifications such as
