A Few Things You'll Take On

* Lead a team of market design professionals in researching, identifying, and developing enhancements to MISO's market frameworks, pricing mechanisms, and operational processes.
* Drive complex proposals from concept to approval, crafting solutions that balance innovation, practicality, and stakeholder needs.
* Present, advocate for, and defend market design initiatives to large, diverse audiences-including stakeholders, regulatory bodies, senior leadership, and industry partners.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, planning, and policy experts to ensure designs are grounded in technical reality and aligned with longterm system goals.
* Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments to proactively identify opportunities for market evolution.
* Champion transparency, engagement, and consensusbuilding in all phases of design and implementation.

* Proven experience influencing and persuading large, crossfunctional groups-especially in settings with competing priorities or highly technical subject matter.
* Ability to communicate complex market concepts clearly and confidently to audiences at all levels.
* Leadership experience managing teams, projects, or initiatives with strategic importance.
* Technical background in the energy sector-such as system operations, power engineering, resource planning, or market operations-with a strong understanding of wholesale energy markets.
* Demonstrated skill in building relationships, facilitating dialogue, and balancing diverse perspectives.
* A passion for solving challenging problems that sit at the intersection of economics, engineering, policy, and realworld grid operations.

What Success Looks Like After One Year

You will have helped shape the designs that guide market activity and lead your team to deliver key market design initiatives on time, supporting a reliable, affordable, and increasingly sustainable energy future across MISO's footprint. While building and sustaining strong and trusted relationships with internal teams and stakeholders, you'll have earned a reputation as a collaborative, forward-thinking leader, being recognized as someone who not only understands the market but helps shape its future!

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $160,000-$182,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
