Position Announcement

Evaluates transcripts from external institutions to determine transfer credit eligibility and applicability. This position works closely with faculty, staff, and students to support accurate credit evaluation and advising, and ensures institutional compliance with the Utah Board of Higher Education and other internal policies related to transfer and articulation.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and evaluate transcripts from other institutions to determine transferability and award appropriate credit.
  • Accurately enter data and maintain transcript and transfer credit data in the Banner student information system.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to confirm course equivalencies and applicability of transfer credit to Utah Tech University (UT) courses and degree requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff regarding transfer credit, transcript evaluation, and articulation processes.
  • Verify course equivalencies for UT students planning to complete coursework at other institutions and transfer credit back to UT.
  • Maintain knowledge of UT, Utah Board of Higher Education, and other internal policies relating to articulation, matriculation, and transfer credit.
  • Perform general registration & records functions, including providing customer service in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Manage digitization, input, and organization of historical student records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in student records and registration processes required; experience working in higher education strongly preferred. The total qualifications required are based on a combination of education and work experience. Any experience used to meet the education requirement cannot also be used to meet the work experience requirement.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and practices related to transfer credit, degree requirements, course structures, and grading systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including word processing, database management, and report generation; experience with the Banner student information system (including forms, tables, and system logic) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally, and to establish and maintain effective working relations with students, employees, and the public.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $45,000 with a desired start date of August 2026.
