Job Summary The Development Officer advances Phoenix College's fundraising, alumni engagement, and donor relations efforts by building and managing relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners to support institutional priorities and student success. This role manages a portfolio of prospects, guiding them through the fundraising lifecycle from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship, while leading engagement initiatives and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and strengthen connections to the college. The position also supports effective stewardship of philanthropic resources and promotes a culture of philanthropy across the institution. Essential Functions 50% - Manage donor relationships throughout the fundraising lifecycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition. Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors; conduct outreach and donor visits; prepare proposals, gift opportunities, and cases for support; secure philanthropic support that advances college priorities and fundraising goals; and collaborate with campus and community stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and align donor interests with institutional priorities. 20% - Maintain fundraising records, reports, and constituent information; support scholarship, endowment, and restricted fund administration; monitor compliance with donor intent; coordinate reporting requirements; and collaborate with the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation and campus partners to ensure responsible stewardship of philanthropic resources. 15% - Develop, plan, and implement alumni, and donor engagement strategies, activities, events, and communications that strengthen relationships, increase engagement, and support philanthropic involvement with Phoenix College. 10% - Contribute to the development of donor, alumni, student, and philanthropic impact stories, stewardship communications and other content that advances fundraising and relationship-building efforts. 5% - Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, or higher education, and two (2) years of experience assisting with and/or coordinating stakeholder engagement, fundraising campaigns, development activities, alumni relations, donor relations, or related advancement functions. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Three (3) or more years of experience cultivating donor, prospect, alumni, volunteer, and stakeholder fundraising strategies. 2. Experience securing philanthropic support from a range of funding sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, community organizations, and/or government entities. 3. Experience developing donor engagement initiatives across multiple areas, such as stewardship, recognition, impact reporting, storytelling, and/or donor communications. 4. Five (5) or more years of experience working in a fundraising environment within a college, university, nonprofit organization, foundation or similar mission driven organization. 5. Three (3) or more years of experience using Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Blackbaud products, or similar client relationship management systems. 6. One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two (2) years. Special Working Conditions
