| Job Description |
The purpose of this position is to create and manage the College's social media presence and support other marketing projects. This is accomplished by creating and managing content on social media platforms; building engagement among the campus and external community; strategizing ideas to recruit more online community members; preparing posts for College news; sharing information with other departments; and training and educating users on the College's social media guidelines. Other duties include serving as campus reporter, campus photography, video creation, writing success stories, assisting with other department projects; proofreading; and attending events for the purpose of taking photos, videos and writing content.
This is an exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Director, Public Relations.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

| Required Experience |
Minimum of 2 years of video creation & editing experience
AND a minimum of 2 years of social media content management experience (posting, scheduling, and performance tracking).

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to stay current with video trends, tools, and platform updates

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or CapCut
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Buffer, or Google Calendar
- Supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree
