Job Summary

The Software Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications that support business and mission-critical objectives. This role develops software solutions using sound engineering principles, established development standards, and software lifecycle methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong C++ programming skills and experience with Unreal Engine technologies to develop interactive, simulation, visualization, or mission-focused software solutions. The Software Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop software architectures, resolve technical challenges, and ensure delivery of high-quality software products.

Job Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain software applications and system components.
  • Analyze business and mission requirements to develop effective software solutions.
  • Utilize C++ and Unreal Engine technologies to create software applications, simulations, visualizations, and interactive systems.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop logical and mathematical solutions to complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Create and maintain software documentation, technical specifications, operating instructions, and development records.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system errors.
  • Analyze system capabilities and recommend enhancements to improve functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, systems engineers, and end users to gather requirements and validate software functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes, procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and support software quality assurance activities.
  • Integrate software components and validate system functionality.
  • Support software testing, verification, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Maintain version control and configuration management processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technical discussions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Experience developing applications using Unreal Engine.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience developing, testing, and debugging software applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.


Work Experience



  • Professional software development experience required.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine development required.
  • Experience programming in C++ required.
  • Experience supporting simulation, training, gaming, visualization, defense, aerospace, or mission-critical software environments preferred.
  • Experience with software integration, testing, and deployment activities preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or other software development environments preferred.
  • Experience with source control and version management systems preferred.
