What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Director of Financial Reporting Platforms (Planning, & Consolidation) to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA, Tempe, AZ or Denver, CO! This is a hybrid, site-based role that offers the perfect blend of office collaboration and remote flexibility. Employees will work from our Carlsbad office at least 3 days (60%) per week within a standard five-day workweek, with the remaining days worked remotely.

  • Serve as the enterprise Solution Owner for finance reporting platforms (Hyperion, Oracle, SAP ECC/S/4 close enablement).
  • Deliver a trusted, governed, and auditable finance data ecosystem supporting planning, forecasting, close, consolidation, and executive reporting.
  • Own end-to-end data integrity, reporting logic, reconciliation standards, and certification across multiple ERP systems.
  • Define and enforce platform governance, standards, and investment priorities, with authority to prevent non-compliant implementations.
  • Drive platform modernization, automation, and risk reduction to improve cycle time, accuracy, and Finance confidence.

The day-to-day

Strategy & Architecture
  • Define and execute platform roadmap (Now/Next/Later) aligned with Finance priorities and SAP S/4 transition.
  • Design target-state architecture, including integrations, data governance, and dimensional standards.
  • Lead simplification, rationalization, and modernization initiatives.
Finance Cycle Enablement
  • Support planning, forecasting, scenario modeling, and financial close processes.
  • Ensure smooth execution of month/quarter/year-end cycles with readiness checks and rapid issue resolution.
Data, Reconciliation & Controls
  • Govern end-to-end finance data pipelines, transformations, and mappings.
  • Establish reconciliation frameworks, certification practices, and exception management.
  • Ensure traceability, lineage, and a single source of truth across ERP and reporting systems.
Audit, Risk & Compliance
  • Maintain SOX-compliant controls, audit readiness, and access governance.
  • Partner with Security/Audit on segregation of duties and compliance requirements.
  • Proactively mitigate risks from system changes and ERP migrations.
Operations & Delivery
  • Manage platform reliability, incidents, and defect resolution.
  • Own release governance, testing, and deployment discipline.
  • Track KPIs/SLAs (availability, data timeliness, reconciliation accuracy, user satisfaction).
Governance & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead Finance platform governance forums and prioritization processes.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Controllers, ERP leadership, architects, and data teams.
  • Build super-user and SME networks to drive adoption and reduce support burden.
Financial & Vendor Management
  • Manage platform budget (CapEx/OpEx) and deliver return on investment.
  • Oversee vendors and managed services with performance-based SLAs.
  • Optimize contracts, reduce external dependency, and build internal capability.

What you'll need

  • 12+ years of experience in Finance Systems / IT leadership roles.
  • Deep expertise in Hyperion (planning & forecasting).
  • Solid experience in financial close & reporting platforms (R2R processes).
  • Demonstrable experience with:
    • ERP integrations (Oracle, SAP ECC/S/4)
    • Data transformations, reconciliation frameworks, and monitoring
    • SOX, access control, audit, and change management
  • Hands-on involvement in ERP transformations and SAP migrations.
  • Experience leading global teams and managing SI/managed service partners.
  • Strong ability to communicate with senior Finance executives and translate technical issues into business decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in automation, governance, and driving organizational change.
  • U.S. Citizenship required

What will help you on the job

  • Experience working in multi-ERP environments with integrated reporting ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of finance master data & dimensional governance (COA, hierarchies, cost/profit centers).
  • MBA or leadership credentials in Finance or Technology.
  • Experience in regulated or public-company environments with strict audit requirements.
  • Architecture-level knowledge of:
    • Data orchestration & integration patterns
    • Release and environment strategy
    • System dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts
  • Proven track record delivering measurable outcomes such as:
    • Reduced close cycle time
    • Improved forecast accuracy
    • Eliminated manual reconciliations and spreadsheet dependency
  • Ability to drive adoption, behavioral change, and governed self-service across global teams.

Salary range

$165,000.00 - $261,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $205,000.00- $308,000.00/ annually
