The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach CHEM 4212/5212 Instrumental Analysis during the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate (CHEM 4212) and graduate (CHEM 5212) students in instrumental methods of chemical analysis. Topics include, but are not limited to, electrochemistry, absorption and emission spectroscopy, chromatography, mass spectrometry, surface analysis, and nuclear magnetic resonance. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, developing course materials, evaluating student performance, holding office hours, maintaining communication with students, and submitting grades in accordance with university policies and deadlines. Coordination with departmental faculty may be required to ensure course consistency and alignment with learning objectives. Qualifications
Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field is required. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in analytical chemistry and instrumental methods. Ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate-level chemistry students. Application Materials
