Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of Assoc. AD for Health, Wellness and Sport Performance, this position assesses and develops plans for student-athletes' nutritional needs; follows and documents students' dietary progress; provides dietary information to student-athletes.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Works as a member of an interdisciplinary sports medicine team to assist in supporting student-athletes' needs
  • Identify and address student-athletes' nutritional challenges
  • Counsel on optimal performance fueling and supplementation
  • Collaborate with other members of sports medicine team to provide education and student-athlete support.
  • Provides individual student-athlete nutritional counseling
  • Formulate and dispense nutritional educational materials for team meal planning
  • Provide team nutritional education and presentations.
  • Provide counseling for student-athletes with eating disorders and disordered eating and collaborate with Team Physician, Athletic Trainers and other members of sports medicine team to support student-athletes


Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Registered Dietician

  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality
  • Possesses excellent communication skills
  • Adheres to required documentation requirements and guidelines
  • Awareness of NCAA banned substances, supplementation and drug testing policies
