Asset & Wealth Management

Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) is the primary investing area within Goldman Sachs, bringing together traditional and alternative investment capabilities to help clients pursue their long-term goals. Acting as a fiduciary, the business invests on behalf of a broad range of clients, including pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals.

With approximately $3.6 trillion in assets under supervision, AWM combines global scale with a culture grounded in partnership, client service, integrity and excellence. Public Investing

The Public Investing team is part of the asset management business and focuses on public markets across asset classes. The organization includes investment teams across equities (both quantitative and fundamental strategies), fixed income and multi-asset allocation.

The Performance Strategy team within Public Investing serves as a resource for the leadership of the Public Investing organization, with a focus on investment performance, investment process and strategic projects. The team works closely with investors, client teams and senior stakeholders, sitting at the intersection of many parts of the investing organization.

This role offers a broad view of public markets and a unique opportunity to learn across asset classes, follow market developments, build relationships with investment professionals and contribute to projects that add value across the business.

This is an opportunity for a motivated candidate to gain exposure to senior investment leadership, deepen their understanding of public markets and contribute to high-impact work across a global platform.

Role Responsibilities

The Associate will support performance monitoring and strategy across the Public Investing complex. Responsibilities will include reviewing fund performance, identifying exceptions, analyzing attribution and portfolio activity, and coordinating follow-ups with relevant stakeholders.

The individual will help prepare performance-related materials for senior management, fund boards, key stakeholders and other relevant governance forums globally. The role will require clear communication, strong attention to detail and the ability to turn performance data into useful insights for decision-makers.

In this role, the person will also contribute to projects that enhance the performance monitoring process, including developing and testing upgrades in collaboration with the engineering team, expanding competitive analysis, comparing outcomes to client expectations, evaluating the quality of returns and broadening the team's coverage. The individual will be expected to identify process improvements and help strengthen the team's overall operating model.

Qualifications



  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated interest in markets through relevant work experience, CFA progress, or coursework
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to be organized, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities while also thinking strategically about the broader business context
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong project management and relationships building skills
  • Curious, creative, able to think on their feet and motivated by the opportunity to work in a high-impact role that connects investment performance, governance and business strategy

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
