Location: Pomona, CA

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (Based on experience)

Schedule:Monday - Friday (You decide your schedule!)

We're looking for a Payroll Accountant in Pomona who knows accounting beyond the basics and takes ownership of the numbers. Solid work. Real responsibility.

A good fit for an accountant who values accuracy, structure, and getting it right.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year specifically handlingowner-operator or independent contractor trucking payroll.
• Strong understanding of 1099 payroll, independent contractor classification, and settlement statements.
• High-level Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data reconciliation).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Customer-service mindset when dealing with drivers.

Job Duties:

• Process weekly settlement-based payroll for 150+ owner-operators and independent contractors.
• Calculate driver settlements including line-haul revenue, accessorials, fuel surcharges, detentions, and layovers.
• Apply and track deductions such as fuel advances, truck/equipment leases, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, escrow, and other driver-accountable items.
• Reconcile driver pay with carrier contracts and rate confirmations
• Handle driver inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and account balances professionally and promptly.
• Generate reports on driver earnings, deductions, and profitability for management.
• Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Stay current on industry regulations and best practices for owner-operator payroll.
