Job Summary

The Receiver / Material Handler / Driver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and transporting materials to support daily warehouse and operational activities. This role combines shipping and receiving, inventory management, material handling, and local delivery functions to ensure accurate inventory control, safe product movement, and timely delivery of goods to customers, job sites, and company locations.

Work Environment: Warehouse facilities, manufacturing plants, outdoor loading docks, and local delivery routes.

Primary Objective: Maintain inventory accuracy, ensure safe handling and transportation of materials, and support efficient warehouse operations through timely receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

• Safely unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment.
• Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and receiving documentation.
• Inspect incoming products for accuracy, quality, and damage; document discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendors, purchasing, or management.
• Accurately record and process all receiving transactions in the warehouse management or ERP system.

Material Handling & Inventory Control

• Store received materials in designated warehouse locations following established inventory procedures.
• Pull, stage, package, and prepare materials for production, customer orders, or internal distribution.
• Perform inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, cycle counts, and adjustments, to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are clearly labeled and easily accessible.
• Assist with periodic physical inventories and cycle count activities.

Driving & Delivery

• Operate company vehicles, including vans, box trucks, and flatbed trucks, to transport materials between facilities, job sites, and customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Load, secure, and transport cargo safely to prevent damage during transit.
• Obtain delivery confirmations, customer signatures, and complete all required transportation and delivery documentation.
• Process customer returns and ensure returned materials are handled according to company procedures.
• Comply with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company driving policies.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures, warehouse protocols, and company policies.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain equipment inspection records as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
