Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY
The EVS Lead is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to staff to ensure that high levels of cleanliness, quality, and that service is always achieved and maintained. Assist with State compliance relating to cleaning processes, waste removal, and infection control practices. The number of environmental service employees supervised will vary. This position will provide floor supervision and assures appropriate staffing levels. Responsible for reporting all pertinent information to the Departmental leadership and. Performs staff work as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead and oversee the Environmental services staff.
    Works closely with the supervisor and or manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels for regular environmental services needs and special projects.
    Coordinates with department manager on the daily work schedules, reassigns staff during shortages to ensure proper coverage.
    Lead, direct and trains environmental services staff and new employees on Environmental Services equipment.
    Responsible for ensuring adherence to new employee retention program.
    Assists with employee training and re-training.
    Ensures that disciplinary problems are documented and brought to the attention of the department manager for appropriate action.
  • Maintains high quality appearance in assigned areas.
    Ensures that all areas are cleaned according to acceptable standards.
    Ensures appropriate levels of chemicals and supplies are on hand, properly stored, and efficiently used and places orders when required.
    Ensures cleaning equipment is kept in good working condition and all issues with equipment are brought to the attention of the department manager.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned for Staffing shortages or detriment needs.
  • Allocate resources; supplies, labor, and services to meet and be in-line with fiscal departmental budgetary guidelines, weekly, monthly, and annually in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Maintains and forms relationships with key personnel.
    Converses with key personnel on a regularly scheduled basis and develops good professional relationships with each.
    Is responsive to requests and concerns of key personnel and provides consistent follow-up action.
    Participates in the conducting of required joint inspections with key personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED candidate can be in process of achieving their GED. Required
  • Other / Certificate Basic College Courses Preferred
  • Technical Training Diploma/Degree Vocational/Specialized training Post High School Preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • 1 year Environmental Service experience Required
  • 1 year Leadership experience Preferred
  • 2 years Healthcare experience Preferred
  • 2 years job related duty Preferred
  • 2 years supervision Preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Drivers License (DL) - License Driver License Current and valid Arizona driver's license Required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age Required
