Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Medical Records Analyst to support all of our office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Will be trained in all aspects of the EMR
  • Works to build new user profiles and train new practice employees at all locations.
  • Works to maintain training for staff as new features are developed and new documentation requirements are implemented.
  • Provides technical support to staff with EMR issues.
  • Reports deficiencies/issues to G2 support as they are reported.
  • Assists in monitoring that required documentation is being performed.
  • Assists patients who need help enrolling in the patient portal when requested by patient or staff
  • Back-up coverage for vacationing employee to monitor and distribute messages from the patient portal message center
  • Back-up coverage for vacationing employee to monitor incoming referrals to the practice in the G2 external message queue.
  • Periodic Quality data validation: reviewing charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of Value
  • Based care requirements, e.g. validating documentation of completed screenings, advance care plans, etc.
  • Sending electronic screenings to enrolled Value Based Care patients via the Patient Portal, monitoring responses and taking appropriate action to resolve, e.g. notification to the applicable provider of the screen results and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Clinical experience in a Physician office or hospital setting required. (i.e., MA, MLT, MT or LPN etc.)
  • Minimum three years' experience in electronic medical records systems, knowledge of practice management systems and laboratory systems and how they interface to the EMR preferred.
  • Excellent communication, planning, presentation and organizational skills required.
  • Must be willing to travel to all VOA offices.
