Department:ICE | LPSL APATH Immunohisto labDepartment's Website: Summary of Job Duties:A Histotechnician executes histologic techniques to patient specimens in order to facilitate pathological diagnoses. Activities related to this position are heavily rooted in immunohistochemistry, as well as microtomy, embedding, staining, coverslipping, and troubleshooting issues within the IHC lab. Full dedication to patient care, fellow coworkers, other professionals, a safe work environment and this position are also key. Working closely with other team members to meet high standards of patient care is expected for this position. Immunohistochemical testing will be conducted on a wide variety of specimens ranging from biopsies to large organs and limbs of the human anatomy. Following procedures and increasing laboratory efficiency and effectiveness is required. The position requires excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
