Job Summary

The Class B CDL Driver with Air Brake Endorsementis to operate automatic stake trucks and box trucks for local deliveries of plumbing materials, including pipe, valves, fittings, fixtures, and equipment. This role involves approximately 90% driving and 10% warehouse support, including staging, loading, and unloading materials. Deliveries are local with routes typically lasting no more than three hours. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, dependable, and committed to maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Job Responsibilities



  • Deliver materials according to scheduled delivery times provided by supervisors
  • Validate delivery directions and routes prior to departure
  • Load, unload, or assist with unloading materials as required
  • Ensure all materials are properly secured and within legal weight limits
  • Obtain customer signatures upon delivery and verify all delivery documentation
  • Communicate with supervisors throughout the workday regarding delivery status and issues
  • Pick up customer returns and verify returned materials match credit requests
  • Pick up local purchase orders as assigned
  • Secure and return packing lists and delivery documentation
  • Verify all delivered materials have been unloaded and placed correctly at delivery sites
  • Review completed deliveries with supervisors for accuracy and completion
  • Return all delivery ticket copies to the warehouse and verify documentation is complete
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations
  • Fuel vehicles as necessary and report vehicle issues, accidents, or moving violations immediately
  • Maintain compliance with company uniform and safety policies
  • Assist with warehouse duties including staging and loading trucks
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Support company programs, goals, and operational initiatives
  • Work overtime as needed based on business demands
  • Operate larger commercial vehicles and trailer combinations when qualified with a Class A CDL


Job Requirements



  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement required
  • Valid state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience operating Class B commercial vehicles required
  • Minimum of one (1) year holding a CDL required
  • Experience operating automatic stake trucks and box trucks required
  • Sit-down forklift experience required
  • Comfortable using smartphones and mobile technology for communication and delivery functions
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to safely lift, load, and unload plumbing materials and equipment
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules efficiently
  • Moffett forklift experience preferred
  • Class A CDL preferred
