Job Summary
The Assembler I is responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to established instructions and production standards. This role involves the use of hand tools, bench tools, and power tools to complete assembly operations, perform basic testing procedures, support brazing processes, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment during the assigned second shift schedule.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assemble details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to work instructions and specifications



  • Use hand tools, bench tools, and power tools to complete assembly operations



  • Load and unload contacts, solder shims or paste, and conductors into carbon assembly boats for furnace brazing



  • Load and unload carbon assembly boats onto belt furnaces during brazing operations



  • Perform soldering and related assembly functions including cutting insulation, stripping and assembling leads, forming wires, and preparing solder shims



  • Conduct basic electrical and mechanical tests including ground tests and dielectric tests



  • Operate manufacturing equipment including riveters, squeezers, drill presses, spinners, tappers, belt sanders, and bench grinders



  • Load and unload automatic and semi-automatic equipment as required



  • Inspect completed work for defects and report defective materials, equipment, or workmanship to leadership



  • Package completed products by making cartons, packing, stamping, and labeling materials



  • Move materials throughout the work area as required



  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment



  • Follow assignments and instructions provided by supervisors and group leaders




Job Requirements




  • Ability to lift up to and including 40 pounds



  • Ability to work the assigned schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (2nd Shift)



  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively



  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail



  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks



  • Ability to perform simple electrical and mechanical testing procedures



  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards




Preferred Skills




  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred



  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments
