We'll look to you for:

  • Collecting external (customer standards) and internal (rolling stock) requirements and allocate them to the technical teams involved,
  • Analyzing system requirements and defining system architectures for traction drives,
  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all traction or auxiliary functions specifications by verifying every FRS and component specification and by participating in all design reviews,
  • Developing and validating functionalities for auxiliary converter systems,
  • Leading technical studies and design activities to meet performance targets,
  • Providing technical guidance and support throughout the product development lifecycle,
  • Leading development of certain RAMS specific documents and deliverables, such as FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), FMECA (Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis), PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis), and Reliability Predictions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering issues,
  • Documenting technical specifications and project progress

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics Engineering or related field,
  • Minimum 5-years of experience with System or Traction Engineering,
  • Experience or understanding of traction drives or auxiliary converter systems,
  • Knowledge of electrical systems architecture and design,
  • Familiarity with product breakdown structure and design review processes,
  • Proficiency in allocating and optimizing technical requirements across various functions,
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical leadership abilities

Things you'll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge traction drive technology and auxiliary converter systems,
  • Progress towards becoming a pivotal player in shaping the future of sustainable transportation,
  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment, fostering collaboration, resilience, and a mindset of continuous learning,
  • Contribute to innovative projects,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
