Position Summary:

The First Aid Inventory Associate performs hands-on inventory work in our First Aid department, putting away incoming materials, maintaining accurate daily counts of raw materials and finished first aid kits, and supporting accurate, on-time order fulfillment. The department stocks approximately 350 raw-material part numbers and assembles roughly 30 varieties of finished first aid kits, along with occasional assorted orders. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role for a dependable self-starter who enjoys steady physical work and consistent processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and put away incoming raw materials and finished goods in the correct bin and shelf locations, including bottom shelves and upper shelves accessed by ladder.
  2. Perform daily cycle counts on raw materials and finished first aid kits, completing approximately 20-25 counts per day.
  3. Reconcile physical counts against system or paper records; flag and document discrepancies for supervisor review.
  4. Read part numbers, labels, and log information accurately, using magnification tools as needed.
  5. Record counts and notes legibly on inventory sheets, tags, and other paperwork.
  6. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; keep aisles clear and shelves orderly.
  7. Follow established processes for receiving, putting away, counting, picking, and labeling.
  8. Communicate clearly with the supervisor and teammates about status, shortages, damaged goods, and process questions.
  9. Support occasional picking and packing of assorted orders and finished first aid kits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Standard math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) sufficient for accurate counting and verifying quantities.
  • Able to read printed labels and written instructions; magnification tools are welcome.
  • Able to write legibly so counts and notes can be read and entered by others.
  • Able to clearly articulate information and to receive and act on instructions with understanding.
  • Dependable and punctual; consistent attendance is essential.
  • Self-starter who can stay on task with minimal supervision once trained.
  • Comfortable following defined processes and checklists precisely.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in warehouse, stockroom, inventory, or medical-supply environments.
  • Familiarity with cycle counting, bin locations, FIFO/FEFO, or lot tracking.
  • Experience using a handheld scanner or basic inventory software.
  • Prior experience operating a pallet jack.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally; average item weight is approximately 20 lbs.
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, and get down to floor level to access bottom shelves.
  • Able to safely climb and work from a step ladder to access upper shelves.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive hand/arm motions throughout the shift.
  • Able to operate a manual pallet jack safely to move palletized materials.
  • Able to read most printed labels, including with the use of magnification tools; vision impairment is acceptable provided labels can be read reliably.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Work Environment:

Indoor warehouse/stockroom environment with shelving at floor level and above standing height. Work involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, ladder use, and occasional movement of palletized loads with a manual pallet jack.
