Your effort and expertise are crucial to the success and execution of this impactful mission. This opportunity supports an Enterprise IT contract with a team of Customer Service Specialists, Database Engineers, Information Systems Security Officers, Information Systems Security Engineers, SharePoint Developers, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and IT Engineers responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance and sustainment of multi-level Enterprise IT environment.

Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support enterprise and mission-critical environments through hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, patching, operational sustainment, and infrastructure modernization activities. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated technical professional who works well across teams, takes initiative, and is naturally curious about how systems and technologies operate within complex environments.

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network and data center environments.
  • Provide engineering support for routing, switching, load balancing, fault tolerance, and infrastructure resiliency initiatives.
  • Perform troubleshooting, patching, operational sustainment, and performance optimization activities across network and infrastructure platforms.
  • Support STE/STN environments and associated mission infrastructure requirements.
  • Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop detailed system requirements specifications.
  • Lead system design and development activities to support operational and mission objectives.
  • Guide users and stakeholders in formulating requirements, evaluating alternatives, and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, system design, and emerging technologies into operational environments.
  • Incorporate new systems, technologies, and infrastructure enhancements into ongoing operations with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct infrastructure assessments and GAP analyses to identify operational improvements and modernization opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system architecture documentation, and engineering design packages.
  • Support development of system engineering management plans, system integration plans, and system test documentation.
  • Interact directly with Government customers regarding systems engineering considerations, technical issues, risks, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of engineering deliverables and work products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operational teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

The Systems Engineer 3 shall possess the following capabilities:

  • Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.

  • Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.

  • Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.

  • Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.

  • Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.

  • Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.

  • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.

  • Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 requirements; Security+ CE certification is required. IAT2.
  • 20+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network engineering and infrastructure environments.
  • Strong experience with routing and switching technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, patching, system sustainment, and infrastructure lifecycle support.
  • Experience developing and maintaining network architecture and engineering documentation.
  • Strong understanding of high availability, load balancing, fault tolerance, and infrastructure resiliency concepts.
  • Experience supporting complex operational or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience supporting data center modernization and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and enterprise security compliance requirements.
    • Experience conducting system integration and test planning activities.
    • Prior experience supporting Government or DoD environments.
    • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph

Pay Range: 184,000 - 236,000
